Welcome to
Dungeness
Vinters Park
If you haven't been to Dungeness, nothing can quite prepare you for this landscape - mile after mile of shingle, wild and weird! Dungeness's position, jutting into the English Channel, makes it ideally placed to watch for migrant birds arriving or departing.
The reserve consists of over 81 hectares of grazing marsh with freshwater dykes, open water ‘scrapes’, seawall and saltmarsh. The reserve is of international importance for migratory, over-wintering and breeding wetland birds. Suitable habitat is achieved through manipulation of water levels and livestock grazing. The reserve supports a spectacular and diverse range of wetland bird life.

Situated alongside the Medway Estuary at Gillingham, the park is made up of many different habitats, including ponds, reedbed and grassland.
There is plenty of green space for walking, picnics, and children to play - making it a great place to visit for a fun day out.
The park offers good and accessible viewpoints from where you can look out over the North Kent Marshes.
